Good-Difficult to fault the service- staff and volunteers. Treated like royalty at the hospital. Nobody judges you-even though I am a smoker. Only improvement-as a smoker would be helpful to have a way to get back in from ambulance door as it is a long way to walk to the front door.

The ability to talk to somebody and try and come to terms with the love of my wife and try and send out what I must do to carry on.

Nothing was too much trouble, if asked a question they could not answer right away they would take the time to go away and find the answer. I was sorry when I completed my time there

Review of St Peter's - Inpatient Team written by a family member

We arrived at st peters after a very traumatic 3 1/2 weeks at hospital where my father had been given a devastating diagnosis. It became apparent only 3 weeks into his time there that he was already in the dying process and the acute medical environment was not a suitable place to be. Thanks to talking to macmillan we decided to request a hospice bed. We had been unable to fulfil any of my fathers requests in hospital due to how pooorly he became but st peters enabled us to fulfil one which was to take my dad out into the garden in his bed and feel the sun. The staff recognised the trauma and shock we were all facing as a family and supported us all. Nothing prepares you for the loss of someone especially at the speed we had to lose my dad and his age, but by being at st peters we could breath and digest the situation which we had not been able to do in the stressful hospital environment. My dad received nursing care from the most caring and compasionate people in beautiful and peaceful surroundings and they literall held his hand to the final moment. We will be forever grateful.

I could sit here for the next year trying to think of a complaint, but I cannot do this impossibility. Great staff great volunteers so impressed our two daughters are organising a sponsored walk in aid of the Hospice.
